Medway Prayer Net

Introduction

The aim of the Medway Prayer Net is the formation of a network of believers into prayer lighthouses through the Neighbourhood Watch & Pray scheme, irrespective of denomination or location, whose desire is to be linked in prayer to see the Medway Towns reached with the Gospel.

As we begin to pray in agreement together for our Towns and specifically our neighbours, we create a ‘tapestry’ of prayer in which each prayer lighthouse shines like a beacon to the lost around it.

" I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceable and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.
                                              I Timothy C2 vs 1 - 4

We are committing to pray that God will change the face of the Towns through our decision to fulfil His command to love one another and to love our neighbours - that others may know the truth of who He is. This love is a choice and it never fails.

Prayer Lighthouse Testimonies

" The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how.. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Saviour God wants us to live.
He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know everyone to get to know the truth we've learned: that there's one God any only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us - Jesus "
      1 Tim 2 vs 1 - 4 The Message

We will all have our own testimonies of what has or has not yet happened around the area we live and amongst our neighbours but two folk have shared with us how this year both had the most wonderful privilege of leading a close relative to Jesus in their own lighthouses of prayer. To the many of us that have loved ones outside the Kingdom we thank God for these conversions and are encouraged to continue in our neighbourhood prayer.

Are you aware of other close neighbours who are believers? If so, might we encourage you to share times of prayer with them for the road(s) in which you live? In the small estate (162 homes) where I live, nine of us from five different congregations gather just one evening a month to pray for those whom we live amongst. We have now had some direct prayer requests from our neighbours, have all drawn closer to each other and the rest of the estate during the past eight months and are now actively inviting other neighbours to come to these gatherings. From small acorns …

" God does nothing but in answer to prayer " John Wesley
" Every significant spiritual awakening in the Church has always been preceeded by a concert of unusual, united and persistent prayer "
                                        Jonathan Edwards
